The Spring Matcha Edit: 4 Ways to Make Your Matcha Ritual Feel Fresh Again

There’s something about spring that makes us want to refresh the little rituals we’ve carried through winter.

The heavier layers come off. Windows stay open a little longer. Mornings feel brighter. And suddenly, that warm matcha you’ve loved all winter is asking for more ice.

Your daily ritual doesn’t need to change completely with the season. Sometimes, it just needs a little refresh.

Here are four ways we’re drinking our SANRAE Ceremonial Matcha™ this spring.

1. The Classic Iced Matcha

Simple, creamy and endlessly good.

You’ll need:

  • 1–2g SANRAE Ceremonial Matcha

  • Around 45ml hot water, not boiling

  • Ice

  • Your favourite milk

  • Optional: a little honey or maple syrup

Sieve your matcha into a bowl or cup, add the hot water and whisk in a quick W motion until smooth and lightly frothy.

Fill a glass with ice and milk, then pour your matcha over the top.

That's it.

A beautiful morning ritual with the naturally occurring combination of caffeine and L-theanine found in matcha.

2. Strawberry Matcha

Spring in a glass.

The combination of fresh strawberries, creamy milk and earthy matcha makes this one as delicious as it is pretty.

You’ll need:

  • A handful of strawberries

  • 1–2g SANRAE Ceremonial Matcha

  • Around 45ml hot water

  • Ice

  • Milk of choice

Mash or blend your strawberries until juicy and spoon them into the bottom of your glass.

Add ice, pour over your milk, then finish with freshly whisked matcha.

For a slightly sweeter version, add a small drizzle of honey to the strawberries.

3. Coconut Water Matcha

For hot mornings when you want something lighter than a latte.

You’ll need:

  • 1–2g SANRAE Ceremonial Matcha

  • Around 45ml hot water

  • Coconut water

  • Ice

  • Fresh lime, optional

Whisk your matcha until smooth.

Fill a glass generously with ice, add chilled coconut water and pour the matcha over the top.

Finish with a squeeze of fresh lime if you like a little brightness.

Fresh, light and incredibly easy.

4. Vanilla Protein Matcha

For the mornings when your ritual needs a little more nourishment.

Our The Daily Calm Protein™ has a creamy vanilla flavour that pairs beautifully with matcha, making this an easy way to bring protein into your morning too.

You’ll need:

  • 1–2g SANRAE Ceremonial Matcha

  • 1 serving The Daily Calm Protein™

  • Milk of choice

  • Ice

  • Around 45ml hot water

Prepare your matcha as usual.

Separately, shake or blend your Calm Protein with cold milk until smooth. Pour over ice and top with your matcha.

You get your matcha ritual alongside 21g of plant-based protein, making it a lovely option after a morning workout or alongside breakfast.

Why we keep coming back to matcha

Trends come and go, but matcha has remained one of our favourite daily rituals for a reason.

Matcha is made from finely ground green tea leaves, meaning you're consuming the whole leaf rather than simply steeping it.

It naturally contains caffeine alongside L-theanine, an amino acid found in tea. This combination is one of the reasons people often describe matcha energy as feeling different from coffee.

Matcha is also naturally rich in plant compounds called catechins, including EGCG, which have antioxidant activity.

But beyond the nutritional side, we love what the ritual itself represents.

Sieve.

Whisk.

Pour.

A few minutes that ask you to slow down before the day speeds up.

Your ritual can change with the season

Wellness doesn't have to mean doing exactly the same thing every day of the year.

Our bodies, appetites, energy and routines naturally shift with the seasons.

So let them.

Take your matcha outside.

Add the ice.

Try the strawberry version.

Drink it after your morning walk.

Make it with a friend.

A ritual is allowed to evolve and still be a ritual.

And sometimes, a little seasonal refresh is exactly what makes you fall in love with it all over again.

Nourish your way, SANRAE™.
