At SANRAE, we only source ceremonial grade matcha of the highest purity and flavour. Our matcha is grown in Shizuoka, a region that produces nearly 40% of all green tea in Japan—and is world-renowned for its exquisite tea leaves, pristine water, and rich volcanic soil from nearby Mt. Fuji.

Grown at the Foot of Mt. Fuji: A Natural Superfood

Our matcha comes from family-run tea farms that sit in the shadow of Mt. Fuji. As a dormant volcano, Mt. Fuji hasn’t erupted since 1707—but its mineral-rich soil remains a powerful secret behind the nutrient density of Shizuoka’s tea.

The volcanic earth, combined with the cool climate and misty mornings, creates optimal growing conditions for green tea that’s smooth, vibrant, and packed with antioxidants like EGCG.

SANRAE matcha is cultivated with care by generations of dedicated tea farmers who take great pride in their craft. Our leaves are shade-grown to increase chlorophyll content (hello, that vibrant green colour!), then hand-harvested and stone-ground into a fine, silky powder for your matcha moments.

Why Ceremonial Grade?
